Challenges are a part of life.
They become more difficult when you are dealing with people. Little people.
There have been a few challenges this week.
One of note has been of theft.
By a child.
Let us call her, M.
She’s been taking merit stars and blocks home. Luckily her mother brought them back to school. Now we have to watch her every move and check her bag at the end of the school day. This means that she may be unfairly blamed for anything goes missing and other learners won’t get equal attention.
It is hard to deal with issue. Especially when it recurs. Thankfully her mother is on board thus making it easier to monitor her.
Talking about it in class and alone is another strategy.
I hope she sees her mistake and changes before bell breaks loose.
There are days when it seems none of the children want to or can listen to their teachers.
Funnily enough, it is across the whole school.
When I met my colleagues at break, they looked just as frazzled as I felt.
I could not wait for them to leave!
I thought that was what parenting is like just without the option of a break/recharge for extended periods of time. Or do parents just get good at handling the little people?
Tomorrow is another day, they make me smile and they make me want to pull my hair out. They make my throat sore. They make me smile and my heart melt.
There is so much to write and yet not enough.
Children are special.
They can drive you up the wall and just as easily melt your heart.
I will try to post something about my day daily. If I don’t understand that I am knackered.
And so it begins.
